The Black Inc THREE is an innovative tri-spoke wheel that offers maximum aerodynamic advantage for time trials and triathlons. Optimising aerodynamics played a key role in the development of the wheel. The use of the three broad bladed carbon spokes creates a sail effect at off-centre yaw angles that decreases drag, and at certain angles even works to propel the wheel and rider. The one-piece wheel structure has been developed using CFD software for enhanced performance compared to a standard spoke wheel that can begin to stall when faced with blustery wind situations, like those frequently found at Ironman in Kona. The carbon lay-up guarantees lateral stiffness that is essential to the race-winning hopes of any competitor while providing a unique level of comfort and stability that encourage a rider to push to the absolute limits.

Designed to enhance the performance of any time trial or triathlon bike, the Black Inc ZERO rear carbon disc wheel uses Textreme carbon fibre which allows us to produce a lighter wheel while maintaining the same strength as previous models. Optimised for 25 mm tyres, the ZERO supports both traditional clincher tires or fully tubeless and offers improved lateral dish deviation even for large volume tubeless tyres. The Textreme carbon not only facilitates a lighter disc layup, but the outer pattern refreshes the aesthetics. Meticulously handcrafted, each disc wheel requires as much as 180 hours-worth of work to create, from layup through quality control. The Black Inc ZERO represents the fastest disc wheel option currently available on the market.

The Black Inc FIVE Track uses a five spoke design combined with a 60 mm tubular rim profile to provide the ideal mix of straight-line aerodynamic efficiency with an ability to excel in group racing dynamics or in openair velodromes where wind conditions can be unpredictable.

The tubular rim uses an external width of 28 mm and is optimised for 700c x 23 mm tyres. Uniquely, the FIVE Track is available in three different hub variations: a 40mm x 12 TA, a 100mm x 12 TA, and a 100mm x M10 bolt hub width option.

Designed to excel in sprint and bunch racing bikes, the Black Inc SIXTY Tubular Track Wheelset focuses on quick handling and extreme stiffness. The carbon rim is made using our strongest possible layup, capable of dealing with the massive amount of torque that the strongest track riders produce. The 20-spoke front and 24-spoke rear wheels use Pillar Wing 22 bladed and butted steel spokes, which are 30% stronger than traditional lightweight 2.0-1.5 spokes in order to enhance the wheels’ lateral, vertical, and torsional strength.

Optimised in collaboration with Aus Cycling, the Black Inc ZERO Track disc wheels prioritise stiffness, with aerodynamic performance designed for track conditions. To enhance rigidity, the wheels feature buttressed internal flanges, creating shear walls between the opposite wheel faces. This new technology which we’ve pioneered allows for the optimisation and reduction of several stiffness plies in the overall layup of both front and rear wheels. We’ve used a high polished surface finish, which extensive wind tunnel testing proved to be the most aerodynamic. Designed to pair perfectly with modern pursuit track bikes, the front ZERO Track is available in 40 mm and standard 100 mm OLD hub spec versions for the fork.

The Black Inc FIVE handcrafted solid spoke carbon wheelset features a specially designed one-piece rim and spoke blade construction. The lightweight wheelset also offers aerodynamic advantages that typically only deep profiled heavier wheels can approximate. The FIVE offers exceptional aero performance thanks largely to the NACA airfoil-optimized spokes, rims, and hubs. The one-piece wheel structure has been developed using CFD software for enhanced performance compared to a traditional mid-depth steel spoked wheelset. The aero performance considering the modest 30 mm rim profile is testament to the effectiveness of the design, while the rim’s minimal cross section prevents any unsteady deflection resulting from crosswinds.
