For time trials and triathlons, disc wheels can often make the difference between winning and not even placing. The Black Inc ZERO has been developed specifically for our pro teams, but offers a wide range of configuration choices and ease of utility that makes it ideal for both the ambitious amateur as well as WorldTour professionals.
Developed through the extensive use of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), the ZERO’s 23mm rim width pairs ideally with a 25mm tire to create the ultimate aerodynamic unit, allowing the airflow to wrap around the wheel to provide ultimate aerodynamics and positive inertia. They use a combination of both 30T and 40T pitch fibers from Toray that have been optimized for structural strength along with being stable in most real world wind conditions. The special carbon layup ensures not only a lightweight but a durable structure able to withstand the rigors of the road as well as the travel that attending important triathlon and time trial events often demands. The rim and side wall covers are all co-molded together, before they are bonded onto the alloy hub shells which have both a mechanical as well as a chemical interface. Then afterwards, all of the hub's alloy parts are installed.
The ZERO has earned respect and adherents thanks to the fact that in addition to the WorldTour oriented rim brake tubular, we include a selection of clincher / tubeless ready options in both rim and disc brake systems. We provide a tubeless kit for the clincher rims that includes rim tape and valves. The tape helps seat the tubeless tire properly in the rim channel and provides an impenetrable seal at the valve hole. The ease of setup and maintenance makes the tubeless disc brake option an exceptional choice for the non-sponsored self-mechanic racer.
The Black Inc ZERO is available with a Shimano or XDR freehub body.
